Rules & Policies

"act like you got some smarts now"

1.        Windrock Campground and Management are not responsible for loss, injury, damage, or claims for damages due to fire, theft, accident, or other causes; not responsible for accident or loss of any kind, for any reason.

2.        THE SPEED LIMIT WITHIN THE CAMPGROUND IS 5 MPH FOR ALL VEHICLES AND IS ENFORCED AT ALL TIMES Racing or revving of engines or any form of extreme riding will not be tolerated. "Take it to the trails!".  No riding of vehicles anywhere within the campground, except to reach your campsite.

The two mile stretch of road between Windrock Campground and the trail head is 15 mph, and is strictly enforced by the county sheriff's department, Windrock Campground, and Coal Creek Mining Company.  The purpose of this is to assure no accidents or injuries, and that you can continue to ride the road to the trails, instead of having to "trailer  your OHV's".  It only takes one person to ruin the privilege of riding the road. Please respect our neighbors and do not speed or rev your engines on this two mile stretch of road.

3.        "Quiet hours" are observed twenty-four hours/seven days a week.  Excess noise is not permitted.  Generators must be turned off at 11 p.m.  Night riding is allowed, however you are expected to be quiet when leaving and returning to the campground.  Don't start your ATV or vehicle until you are ready to leave the property. NO REVVING OF ENGINES.

4.        Black water should be emptied prior to departing the campground.  Dumping anywhere but a certified dump-station is illegal in Tennessee.  WASHING OF ATV’s or VEHICLES IS NOT ALLOWED AT ANY TIME.  Water is for personal use only.

5.        Pets are welcome. However, they must be properly attended to and leashed at all times.  Owners must clean up after their pets and dispose of any droppings in trash containers.  Sorry - no pets allowed inside the bunk-houses.

6.        Each space has parking limited to two (2) vehicles including trailers, but not including ATV's.  All vehicles must be parked in designated areas within the campground, due to emergency vehicle access.   Vehicles not parked in designated areas will be towed without prior notice, and at owner's expense.  If needed, ask about extra parking.

7.        Guests of campers are welcome.  Overnight visitors will be charged a fee. Visitor hours are 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.  Campers are responsible for the conduct and behavior of their guests at all times.

8.        Firearms, lethal weapons, fireworks, slingshots, and pellet or BB guns are not to be loaded or discharged on the premises.

9         Alcoholic beverages are permitted in moderation at campsite only.  Alcohol consumed or possessed by a minor is not permitted, and strictly enforced.

10.     Campfires (not bonfires) are to be started and maintained in fire-rings.  Do not put non-burnable items (glass or aluminum included) into fire rings.

11.     Damaging trees or shrubs is prohibited.  Wire, spikes or nails are not to be used or placed in trees at any time.  Non-damaging material such as rope or string is allowed, but must be removed prior to departing the campground.

12.     Digging of trenches, ditches, or holes at your campsite or on campground property is strictly prohibited.

13.     Garbage must be placed in clearly marked trash containers located throughout the campground.  Cigarette butts are considered trash and must be disposed of properly.

14.     Check out time is 6 p.m.  Please notify office when staying over.

15.     No refunds.

Management of Windrock Campground has made every effort to provide camping guests with a safe, quiet, and enjoyable camping environment.  Management reserves the right to evict, without prior notice, anyone who in our judgment creates a disturbance, or nuisance, or deliberately breaks any of the rules listed above.  Eviction will be immediate and without reimbursement of camping fees.  Management enjoys an excellent working relationship with local law enforcement and will not hesitate to fully and vigorously prosecute violators of laws or ordinances.

The Rules, according to Barney Fife, M.D. (Mayberry Deputy):

"Now Men - Here at 'The Rock'

we have two basic rules:

The first rule is:

  Obey all rules!

Secondly, do not write on the

walls, as it takes a lot of work to

erase writing from walls."
